We were finally able to systematically process all our items related to Class War, ‘a UK-based anarchist tabloid newspaper founded in 1983’ (quoted from a post by the CWF on Libcom).
We already scanned a handful of issues some years back, but have now much improved on those old copies.
We added OCR when possible, but the software got a bit overwhelmed at times and a few issues have no or only partial OCR. Always keep in mind that OCR is a useful, but by no means perfect tool. If you want to make sure, you still got to search the hard way.
Our collection is of Class War turns out to be extensive, but by no means comprehensive. There are a number of issues missing from the main run of the newspaper, but we were glad to find all but six of the 72 issues published before 1997.
Unfortunately, it is unclear which ones of the very early ones we are missing, as there are neither dates nor issue numbers on the first two dozen(ish) issues (with a couple of exceptions). Our guesstimated dates and issue numbers listed below are based on the very helpful information available from the Class War archive at Libcom, a few ‘order back copies’ features in later issues and the usual workarounds (‘When in the mid-1980s fell the 15th February on a Friday?’, ‘When was this, that or the other Royal Wedding announced?’, etc.). We hope our results are reasonably accurate, but if anyone has further information or the time to squirrel through the papers in more detail, please get in touch and we would be glad to update our records.
It is difficult to ascertain how (in-)complete our collections of regional Class War publications are, any information would be most welcome. Please keep in mind that some of the regional and 'assorted' publications may not have been directly produced by groups affiliated to the Class War Federation (any further information is always welcome).
If anyone can help us filling in any gaps by providing items we are missing (either as a loan to be returned after digitisation or as a donation to the Sparrows’ Nest), please get in touch.
As usual we recommend you run searches on the main online catalogue for additional information on the individual items (e.g. regarding missing OCR, dates, partial keywords, etc.).

Missing issues (tabloid paper)
We are missing some of the first issues (including #03-04) and the order and dates of the others is not completely sure (though much thanks again for the help we have already gotten by some of you trying to untangle this enigma!). We then have a full set up for the rest of the 1980s. We are also missing #54, #59, #60, #79, #80, #81, #84, #86, and #91. It is possible that we are missing more issues if any were produced after #98 and/or after the 2017 special issue.
